The last Irish weekend is over – Nooooooooo

This is the beginning of the end of our world we build during the last seven weeks…

Here an article about the end of the world, which started two days ago. It says something about 200m people who simply disappear out of our minds. Well I don’t care because I forgot who I forgot.

Nevertheless our last weekend in Ireland is now over but it is not like we did nothing.

Friday was my last day with my supervisor because he is on holiday this week. I finished most of the pages of the website(even through they are not online yet) so I can document the work I did until now and make some final changes. On my last days here I will come to a conclusion and I will formulate further instructions for my successor – whoever it will be. But enough of work(there will be at least one more article about work later).

On Friday evening we did something but I totally forgot what. It wasn’t something worth remembering so I will skip Friday evening.

Saturday was the end of the world(link above) but I think they somehow mixed it up with Kristian’s 25th birthday(actually the result is the same^^). With Kristian’s parents who were visiting him we took the DART(S-Bahn) to Howth a peninsula in the north-east of Dublin:

There is a small island next to Howth called „Ireland’s Eye“ which is a famous breeding area for seabirds. You can only access this island by boat but we decided to have a walk along the cliffs of Howth itself.

The sky was cloudy and the wind quite strong but it was a really nice experience. Fortunately we were warned so we were really careful:

It may look like really dark clouds but in reality I just messed up with the configuration of my camera :D. Here a picture of the cliffs:

Florian and I took a slightly different route than the others. We climbed the hills and due to that we had an amazing view down

We met the others again in front of this Lighthouse:

On our way back we saw large burned fields, a wedding bus which carried all guests of a wedding and an emo house. Near the harbour we ate fish&chips while it started raining. However after more then 10km walk we felt slightly exhausted especially Kristian’s mom. We took the DART back to Dublin’s city centre. With Denny and Flo I went to Lidl to do the shopping for the last week. We still have many packet soups from our caring parents so we concentrated on drinks and bread.

When we returned home we only had one hour to relax. On occasion of Kristian’s birthday we went out again to eat something. Because most of us have never been there before we went to check out KFC. It tasted really good but the amount of food was only average and the price was higher than McD or BK.

After that we wanted to go to a pub. Needless to say that Kristian decided which one. So we went to the Carlsberg pub and we finished the day with a pint of Carlsberg(I persisted on Coke).

All in all the day was very nice, we moved our old bones and had a portion of fresh sea air. And all this without noticing anything of the end of the world.

Hope you read the last articles of our stay too

Jonas
