Live every day to its fullest

Hey everyone,

only ten days left but I live every day to its fullest. Yesterday the Brady’s(Hostfamily) and I went to „Nando’s“. It is a South African dining restaurant and they are specializes in chicken dishes. I eat ten chicken wings, a bowl of chips and drink 3 glasses of water, because the chicken wings were very spicy. Also so chips were spicy but delicious. After that we all eat ice cream and had a nice conversation at home.

Today the weather was awesome. We had twenty-three degree and I enjoyed it much.
Ryan asked me if I like to play soccer in the afternoon with him and some older men.
I agreed and right now I take my clothes and get ready for the match.
That feels like a typical summer…

Sunbathing and Soccer

Hello everyone,

the weekend passed very quick. I and my hostfamily watched the „Soccer World Cup 2014“ games and we speculated which team will be the winner. We decided the best team should be the winner..except England. Unfortunately there is no Irish team in the groups.
I also realized that a lot of Irish people go to the betting office and challenge their luck.

Actually we planned to go to the Irish east coast, but we deferred out trip to next Sunday because Ryan and Dillon worked the whole weekend. For that resaon we stayed at home and enjoyed the wonderful weather with drinks, snacks, music and more soccer games.

Along these lines..Cheers!

Every cloud has a silver lining

Hey everyone,

yesterday I celebrated my birthday with my host familiy.
The bought a little cake with candles on it.
They are so polite and I was very happy that they noticed that.
The weather here in Dublin alternates between sun and rain so fast. The last days were unfortunately rainy and cloudy.
Only on one day the weather was very warm and sunny
so I decided to visit the botanic garden in the west of Dublin.

Ryan came with me and he showed me also the big graveyard in Glasnevin. It is the biggest graveyard in Ireland and looks so amazing. We seen the grave of Daniel O’Connell. He was an Irish political leader and campaigned for Catholic Emancipation. His grave is beneath a round tower.

After that we went to the city centre and had a lunch there. Ryan was looking for a tattoo parlor. We strolled through the little side streets and Ryan made an appointment in the tattoo parlor.

Afterwards we took the bus, drove home and enjoyed the cloud-free evening.

The internship has started

Hey everyone,

the last days were very nice and the time passed away quickly. On Saturday, Pauls family was here for afternoon coffee, cake and dinner. We talked a lot about Ireland, Germany, culture in both countrys and the first experiences that I have collected in Dublin. The people here in Dublin are more comfortable and more polite than the people in Berlin. Maybe that is because the city is much smaller as well as the population.

Monday was my first day at work. I am very glad to have the opportunity to work here in the „Computer Factory“. We had a warm welcome.

First Joe showed us the area and on which places we will work during the next 7 weeks.
He defeated us in billiard and told us what he has done in his whole career.

And it was a lot of fun.

Today we cleaned some PCs and Christopher and I chose one for our WSUS update server.
We upgraded the amount of the RAM so that the server will have enough resources for challenging tasks.

We installed „Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2“ from a disk for a temporary test environment.
Christopher installed the Windows Server Update Services role, because we decided that he will
manage the WSUS server and i will try to install a PXE installation server.
Besides that, we got some information from the internet about the server roles.

I am looking forward to have a wunderful time in my internship.

First time and first impressions

I have heard a lot of Ireland, but today it is the first time that I can form my own impressions.

The pleasant flight took 2 hours and a very nice guy picked us up from the airport. He drove us to the house of the host family. A jolly middle-aged man opened the door. His name is Paul an he has two sons at my age and a little cute dog. After the greetings Paul shows me my room. It is a very comfortable room in the attic. The view is amazing, despite of the bad weather. I hope that sunbeams will wake me up tommorow.
