Video calling someone else’s cat

I am serious. It happened again. Am I becoming a cat whisperer? Hardly. This cat wasn’t willing to interact with me either. The feeling was mutual. This cat chat was forced on me. The whole point of the video call was to live stream Pro7. That might damage my image significantly, but… I really wanted to watch Germanys Next Topmodel (it was the semi-final!). I wasn’t able to do it in Belfast, thus my sister spontaneously suggested to let me watch it with the help of a video call. I – in the shape of the mobile phone – was comfortably positioned on the table and could follow up the show surprisingly well on her TV. During one of the commercial breaks it was decided that I should talk to the cat. I guess that’s what happens when you tell your family members about your blog and they want to hoax you with it.

Sorry for the digression. But this feels like the most noteworthy topic these last few days. My work has gotten less physical. For the last two days and the coming week I got a new assignment. As I already mentioned in a prior article, the company wants to move their servers to the cloud, starting with Uranus. This is the server for the DATACTICS analysts. My task is to research how to move the server to the cloud – more specifically to Amazon Web Service (AWS). I decided to document my findings. This decision was made purely because of the desire to design this cover page. It’s beautiful.

Drew also contacted me because he wants to deploy an asset register in the company. He forwarded me a demo of the software he wants to use and asked me about my opinion. I honestly appreciate that I am getting involved in all of these projects.

Work aside, I should update you on the weather in Belfast. It’s not raining today! That’s a first for this week. I’ve made exemplary photos to show you the two sides of Belfast. One captured that rare sunshine moment I experienced in the middle of the city, a band was playing in the background, kids were running around (today). The other one displays the major part of the rest of the week. Enough said.
