Day 9&10 09.-10.04.2018 <\/strong>Monday&<\/strong>Tuesday
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

At Monday I couldn\u2019t believe it, but there was a day in Northern Ireland there it didn\u2019t rain for 24h. If you guys ever go to Ireland you better should enjoy every bit of sunshine you can get. Today my department manager came back from his holiday so he began to explain to me how the network topology looks like and the names convention that they use.<\/p>\n

While he explained everything to me, he also used quite a lot of new programs which I haven\u2019t seen before. Afterwards he explained to me which projects he wants to do with me.<\/p>\n

The first one is to redesign an old network, which does not meet all the current requirements.<\/p>\n

The second one is to design a network for a future building, which is still in the building progress.<\/p>\n

Last but not least he wants us to optimize the network of the current BMW department.<\/p>\n

On this day I also had the chance to see the unfinished branch, because my supervisor and two department managers wanted to check if the building fits their future vision.<\/p>\n

At the end of monday we [Giang, Tim and me] had a dinner together.<\/p>\n

At Tuesday it was rainy again. This day I followed the network department manager and observed the tickets\/problems we had in our company. On this day we had a dns problem which got solved pretty fast. Another incident we had is, that a guest complained about the connection to the internet. I think that it had something to do with the AP. I received 2 switches and 1 cisco asa [firewall] to build a small test environment to test our future configuration.<\/p>\n

Before going to the intern europe event in the evening, we met with Giuliano to cook and eat together.<\/p>\n

The quiz night at intern europe was based on a question paper with 38 question about Ireland, the UK and intern europe. They assigned us to random groups, so that we could meet other students from other countries or meet people who are also having a work placement at Belfast. The people worked in lots of different areas.<\/p>\n
