I did something wild. I&nbsp;<em>left the apartment.<\/em>&nbsp;I know, right? Character development. But plot twist \u2013 I wasn\u2019t alone. I dragged Thadd\u00e4us with me. Poor guy didn\u2019t know what he was signing up for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our target? The&nbsp;<strong>City of Arts and Sciences<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 aka that futuristic dreamscape where you half expect Iron Man to swoop in and Da Vinci to fly past on a glider. Specifically, we were there for the Leonardo da Vinci exhibition. Yep, the OG renaissance daddy himself \u2013 painter, inventor, beard icon. I teased this trip a while ago, and look! Foreshadowing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, we get off the train and face a decision:<br><strong>Option A<\/strong>: Bus. Crowded, chaotic, smells like disappointment.<br><strong>Option B<\/strong>: A casual 3km hike through Valencia\u2019s massive park like the broke but artsy adventurers we are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guess what we picked. That\u2019s right,&nbsp;<strong>Cardio with a view<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Along the way, we encountered:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li class=\"\">Odd metal constructions pretending to be playgrounds,<\/li><li class=\"\">Men loitering at fences like they were auditioning for a true crime documentary,<\/li><li class=\"\">A skatepark, a fake river, and more trees than I\u2019ve emotionally dealt with since 2003.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Then \u2013 boom \u2013 the futuristic mega-structure appeared. Picture the Sydney Opera House and a spaceship had a lovechild. That\u2019s where the da Vinci exhibit was. Giant. Confusing. Beautiful. We almost didn\u2019t find the entrance because apparently minimalism also means zero signage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inside? Pure nerdvana.<br>Da Vinci\u2019s inventions, actually built. Gears. Gliders. Gadgets that would make Batman jealous.<br>And for the&nbsp;<em>measly<\/em>&nbsp;price of 9 Euros \u2013 which is like 2 overpriced lattes \u2013 we also got access to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li class=\"\">A&nbsp;<strong>Bio-Dome<\/strong>&nbsp;exhibition with tiny animals (very alive, very adorable),<\/li><li class=\"\">A&nbsp;<strong>Space Showroom<\/strong>&nbsp;with holograms so cool I tried to high-five Saturn,<\/li><li class=\"\">And a&nbsp;<em>&#8222;Feel Your Weight on Other Planets&#8220;<\/em>&nbsp;station, where I discovered I would weigh&nbsp;<strong>0.97 kg on Saturn\u2019s moon<\/strong>. Weight Watchers could never.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To seal the deal? I made a montage for my Tumblr blog, slapped on some emotionally manipulative background music, and voil\u00e0 \u2013 instant art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So yeah, if you want to combine historical geniuses, galaxy-brain science stuff, and a solid leg workout \u2013 this place? 10\/10 would recommend.
