Adopting an interdisciplinary approach, PRIVACY-CHINA examines the multifaceted legal, social, cultural, and political contexts surrounding the disclosure, evaluation, and governance of private information in China. The project explores critical questions: How is this societal transformation shaped by citizens, firms, and governments in China? How can the risks of digitalisation be mitigated while maximising its benefits? Finally, how can the gained insights support European societies in navigating their own digital transformation?

This project is funded by the VW Foundation for the topic “Pioneering projects ‘Societal Transformations’”.
