WP4: Fostering societal discussions

Documentary film

This work package produces a feature-length creative documentary, featuring three protagonists to illustrate diverse privacy practices and debates in China. The film integrates insights from all work packages and uses experimental filmmaking techniques to provoke reflection on the complexities of privacy in contemporary Chinese society.

Travel gallery

Aiming at fostering public discourse on privacy, this work package also includes a Travel Gallery, to be developed near the end of the project. The gallery will feature visualised research findings and public screenings of the documentary, either in full or in part, and thus disseminate them widely. Planned stops of the gallery currently include Berlin, Oxford, London, Beijing, and Shanghai with additional locations under consideration. The Travel Gallery will ensure that the project’s findings remain accessible beyond its completion.
