The Facebook Page

Tap Tops Bottles joined Facebook on November 12, 2012. The page was created by the Networkers and published after we had decided on the logo, finalised the mission statement and made sure we would have some content (water facts, videos etc.) for getting started. Sonia’s photo showing our slogan was soon chosen as the appropriate title photo, it was later on even adapted by TapThat Montana for their Facebook page. The page had references to our Twitter account and YouTube channel.

The Networkers, Strategists, Visualists and Creatives tried to provide the page with regular updates as to water, the campaign itself, our own videos, announcements and footage concerning our offline action. It was further used to comment on TapThat Montana and to share their material as well, e. g. concerning the Flash Mob in Missoula.

Our most important findings are that

  • it is not difficult to generate some traffic on a page in the very beginning, e. g. by inviting all your Facebook friends to like it, but
  • it is much harder to keep interest in the page high
  • it is even more work to be continuously providing it with (at best interesting) content
  • it is the visible result of what you have been thinking of and working on during the planning phase
  • it is a great forum for issues like ours as you can present them in a colourful and interactive manner and it is easy for people to get in touch with your content.

Here’s our Facebook Page of the campaign, take a look! https://www.facebook.com/TapTopsBottles?fref=ts#!/TapTopsBottles?fref=ts
