{"id":255,"date":"2013-01-27T22:20:05","date_gmt":"2013-01-27T21:20:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/userblogs.fu-berlin.de\/taptopsbottles\/?page_id=255"},"modified":"2013-02-11T14:41:34","modified_gmt":"2013-02-11T13:41:34","slug":"conclusion","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/userblogs.fu-berlin.de\/taptopsbottles\/conclusion\/","title":{"rendered":"Conclusion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/userblogs.fu-berlin.de\/taptopsbottles\/files\/2013\/01\/481614_300491673402777_998606116_n.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-414\" src=\"https:\/\/userblogs.fu-berlin.de\/taptopsbottles\/files\/2013\/01\/481614_300491673402777_998606116_n-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/userblogs.fu-berlin.de\/taptopsbottles\/files\/2013\/01\/481614_300491673402777_998606116_n-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/userblogs.fu-berlin.de\/taptopsbottles\/files\/2013\/01\/481614_300491673402777_998606116_n.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 85vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>After the active campaigning phase has ended, it is now time for some conclusions as to our tap water project.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>General conclusions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The idea of collaborating transnationally was very ambitious.<\/li>\n<li>The time frame for preparing the campaigns was very tight given the fact that people had to become familiar with the idea of realising a real social media campaign.<\/li>\n<li>The transnational composition of the working groups was beneficial for some and did not have much importance for others as we realised two separate campaigns in the end.<\/li>\n<li>Not all the team members had specialised experience in using social media, blogging, producing videos etc., but each of us has learned a lot in this respect.<\/li>\n<li>We have learned a lot about project management and schedules.<\/li>\n<li>Using several channels for communication leads to an exponential increase in work to be done, i. e. lots of time and resources = many channels leading to higher impact; limited time and resources = a few channels used properly leading to an acceptable impact.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What did work well?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the bios and videos introducing the team members and naming their favourite working group<\/li>\n<li>many team members were very enthusiastic about the project and worked really hard on it<\/li>\n<li>the overall collaboration within and among the working groups<\/li>\n<li>the first transnational brainstorming session<\/li>\n<li>the wrap-up discussions at the end of the campaigning phase<\/li>\n<li>the offline events raised awareness on the campus and provided footage for the Facebook pages<\/li>\n<li>distributing stickers and flyers as well as collecting signatures for our petition during the taste test and in our seminars<\/li>\n<li>interactive elements like surveys, questions and polls<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What could have been done better?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>some team members were not that motivated to support the project<\/li>\n<li>more likes could have been generated if each of us had liked all posts on our Facebook page<\/li>\n<li>more channels could have been used, yet some were found to be used by too few people to make much impact<\/li>\n<li>the dates of the offline events should have been published at longer notice, hearing about them two days before made it impossible to join for some team members<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What have we learned from our campaign?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Successful social media campaigning means a hell lot of work and dedication.<\/li>\n<li>Mobilisation is dependent on many factors.<\/li>\n<li>Many channels must be used or must reinforce each other to reach many people.<\/li>\n<li>Awareness for the tap water issue will remain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After the active campaigning phase has ended, it is now time for some conclusions as to our tap water project. &nbsp; General conclusions The idea of collaborating transnationally was very ambitious.
