During the semester, we have found that the importance of social movement theory is continuing to grow. The number of publications available is therefore quickly increasing and new research findings are being published continuously. What we have seen from the resarch literature on the Arab Spring is that researchers agree that the impact of social media on mobilisation is an issue that offers a lot of future research opportunities and that requires e. g.<\/p>\n
– new methods of dealing with huge amounts of data<\/p>\n
– new skills and new forms of collaboration<\/p>\n
– new theoretical foundations<\/p>\n
– new thinking about the nature of available data and ideas what to make out of them.<\/p>\n
