yesterday I went with my friend Florian to the Musical Monty Python’s Spamalot. Actually I gave it to him as a birthday present. Luckily the Grand Canal Theatre is only 15 minutes of chilled walk away from our apartments and it started 7.30p.m. so there was no problem with work. As great fans of Monty Python’s we were really excited. The theatre was not filled but that may have been through it was in the middle of the week.
The musical is based on the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail(Ritter der Kokosnuss) but there are many differences. However the typical humour is always there. They sang the popular songs of their films(Always look on the bright side of life, The Knights of the Round Table…) and sketches but also some new ones written only for the show(I am Arthur King of the Britains, A song that goes like this…). We rofled and loled the whole time. In the end we bought lots of merchandising stuff^^(Over 50€ together).
I really recommend to watch the movies to everybody – even if you already know them. If you think they are not funny – then it is you who are not funny.
All in all it was a really nice evening.
