another challenge

Like my other colleagues I also got my introduction and first tasks in my new work placement. My first task was to write a prototype software using the google-API which I finished on the first day of work……after I finished the second task where I wrote an alternative using the jQuery-framework today, I guess I made clear that writing software isn’t really a problem. That’s propably why I already have my first bigger project where I am going to develop some more serious corporate Software.

I am really lucky to have a very understanding and helpful boss who reminds me of my boss in Berlin(a nice guy on the run between meetings). Being the only full-time-programmer in my office as it seems, I am happy my colleagues are really friendly and nice so I already feel at home and I’ve already spoken with more people than in a placement where I was surrounded by software developers…

Another thing I truly enjoy while being in Ireland is something that becomes apparent every time I walk or jog the streets of Belfast. This city is simply much cleaner than Berlin especially because apparently it is more civilized and people rather spend time together than replacing their social contacts with animals which turns a city into a medieval landscape where it suffocates from animal manure like a deranged zoo.
