Hello,
today is the 12 April and I have to wait. I have a Database who must be updatet, the DB is bigger than 2GB so it takes a lot of time.
So i will use it to write al little bit.
If your are interestet in my work I`ll introduce you.
Here at the company Lagan my main task is to test the tool Lagan and to find weaknesses in the Software.
In my first weak i have to read a lot about Jmeter (https://jakarta.apache.org/jmeter/index.html).
Jmeter is a tool to test Website performance, scale and security. There is a very good written „User Manual“ on the homepage. You can read it in less then 8 houres, trust me I have test it 😉 .
You can simulate millions of HTTP reqests, analyze the replys and get charts and logs, helping you to find weaknesses in you code or infrastrukture, with only a single middle class Pc(amazing). An other big atvantage of Jmeter is that it is OS independent, becouse it is written in Java.
But why I get to know informations about a tool to test websites?
The Lagan tool depends on two parts, the First is an in Java written Client on the Pc where you can do all the great stuff you whant to do with. On the other hand you have the in-Browser-version whitch is not needet to install, this is my point 😉 .
Langan needs an Database to store there Information in it. I have to choose between MS_SQL and Oracle, the winner was Oracle because i dont now annything about Oracle Dbs so I use the change to learn something new.
But before i can start to perform some tests against the Tool, i have to get some dummy data. And oh my goodness there is an perfeckt database i can use wiht dummy data in it…. .
After some very strage errors i get to know the database isn`t on the current version, so i have to upgrade it. Upgradeing a Database is a very painfull Job, Stephen(an Irisch student) and I have to do.
In the meantime, I read a Book called „Oracle Essentials“
(https://oreilly.com/catalog/9780596514549) my principal architeckt give to Stephen.
It is very informative, for example i lean somthing about oracle history, the arcitecture, the instalation(fuck i hat to read the book befor i have install it without any knolage …), the internal Data strukture of Oracle Dbs and it is simply usefull to speed up the time i have to wait.
so now the book is calling and my tea becomes coold
best regard
Chris
