Jonas – second week survived

Hi there people,

as you can read in the headline we survived the second week. Friday after work we went to a pub with all Berlin-Dublin-people.  I drank my first one-tenth Guinness and I decided to drink tea(hi Paul :D). I went home with Denny pretty early because he was feeling bad and I was really tired from work(I think I am the first one leaving in the morning and one of the last ones returning).

Saturday we did nothing – really nothing. We slept until 1pm ate things, played games and just relaxed. The only useful thing I did was buying the tickets for the musical I gave Florian as a present(we will sit in the third row in the center).

Sunday we stay in bed very late too, but then we dicided to go to town to visit the Guinness Storehouse. It was very informative. We learned that Guinness emblem was the reason for a reversed harp in the Irish Symbol(e.g. on coins). Coincidentally there was a student choir there when we visited and they sang some amazing a capella songs. The best one was the Lumberjack song >here the original <.

Now we will go to bed so we won’t be late tomorrow.

See you all Jonas

Paul Panser – My Weekend

Hi it’s me again!

Friday night me, Matze, Chris and Sven went to a University Pub/Club. I don’t know it’s name. The drinks were expensive as always and the skirts were short as always, too ;).

Because the music were crap we decided to go to the Laverys bar. It was really crowded in there, so we stood outside on the beer garden and had some talk, but the Belfaster were already really drunken so we hadn’t had a talk with some other guys there… The rest of the night we tried to find another pub which was still open… unsuccessful. „Paul Panser – My Weekend“ weiterlesen

Paul Panser – Finally got real work

Hi there,

yeah let’s continue to talk about what I have done so far.

Thursday I was supposed to meet with Barry, another peer from my project, in front of the BT Tower. There we had to re-install the anti virus of about 30 laptops. It was simple, I just had to deinstall the old version and then to install the new version of the AV-programm trough the network. After that he explained to me what the servers in their serverroom exactly do. „Paul Panser – Finally got real work“ weiterlesen

Friday

On Friday I also worked at “Computer Doctor”. Dustin and I created a TO-DO-LIST with all these little projects we got from Peter. Meanwhile, JJ worked on the current website of “Computer Doctor”. His task was to create a little flash animation or a slideshow with some pictures of the company.

After we finished the to-do-list, I researched something about the “Da Vinci” program. Everybody knows, that this program financed our Dublin abode. Peter gained experience with the swan institute over the years and he was not always amused. Anyway, we should collect some information about this “Da Vinci” program.

Peter gave a lot of small projects to us.

For example:

–          Create a PDF document in the form of a running sheet

–          Logo design

–          Configure a Cisco router

–          …

And of course repair some laptops.

weekend almost over

hey there

yeah the weekend is nearly over and we didnt do anything special (suprise, suprise). Friday I was bummed out by work. I even slept in the bus at the way home. So i decided to just have a quiet evening. At this day Denny and I had pizza. The problem was, Dennys stomach didnt like it. So he spent the saturday in bed. I wandered between bed and living room. I wasn’t sick like Denny, but didnt have any motivation to do something. So I stayed in and watched movies (in english of course 😉 ). Like the saturday ended the sunday began. Just taking a shower and do nothing.

I think I didn’t tell you. But at work we are moving out of the house from our boss and in a business like office. It is a office for startup companies, if i understood her right. This may reduce the way to and from work slightly. 🙂 And maybe they even have comfortable chairs.

this was it from me. has a nice evening.

fresh sea air(follow up)

hiThat’s the post where you will actually read and see something about my joy of being here and breathing fresh sea air.

During the first two weeks I had enough time to test run some jogging routes. I must admit it is a pleasure to run in the morning and breathe some sea air. It seems it has a positive effect on my running performance because in Germany the route i run before going to work is 5km long and here I run 5 miles and do not feel a difference. This will be a nice preparation for the team relay run in June where i run for the IT department of the MPIB.

My favorite track i use to run now leads along the Lagan lake and is quite pretty along with a spectacular scenery compared to my usual track in Berlin…

But see for yourselves:

fresh sea air

As you may have noticed while reading our blog, the amount of posts increased dramatically to meet required post numbers…
…in the end it’s just quantity that counts.
That’s why I also won’t bother and split all my posts in small, almost twitter-like, posts because regardless of the length and quality I also have to meet the required numbers. Assuming that this way any post will be lost in an avalanche of meaningless noise i see no point in really caring about what i write here anymore. Just see for yourself what has been posted in the last 48h. Do I really want to be associated with these posts? Now it occurs to me that it was a bad decision to give the link to this blog to my boss here in Ireland… „fresh sea air“ weiterlesen
