Visit from Berlin

Hi guys,

on Tuesday came visitors from Berlin to Belfast. Who? Mr. Bavar (my supervisor) and Mrs. Neumann (supervisor from the MPIB).

They have visited the companies and accommodations from the AFIB members.

They were at 11 o’clock in my company, where we have talked about the work at Anaeko. Later came my responsible person from Anaeko to us and we spoke all together .

On the late afternoon, the complete AFIB went in the “Filthy MacNasty’s”-Pub, a small Pub in the Dublin Road, there we drunk, of course only coke. =D
It was nice to speak once again with people from Germany.

At 7:30 p.m. our visitors walked to the train station to drive back to Dublin.

Pub hopping

Hi guys,

we was on Friday „pub hopping“.

The first pub was our favourite bar „the Lavery’s“, there we have played pool billiard. But not normally pool with different coloured balls, but orange and red balls, this was new for me.

After that, we were in a gothic themed bar with the name „Benedict Bar“, a bar with cool music, but many „old“ people (to „old“ people).

On the end, we are gone in the „vBar“, a very cool, but small bar. Unfortunately, it was very empty. But apart from that , I can they recommend.

On the end, we are gone home and had there still a little bit fun.

1/4 is done

Hi guys,

1/4 of our time is done, but fortunately we have even 3/4 of our time.

Okay, to the weekend:

On Friday evening, we was in the Botanic Inn, a small pub near the Botanic Garden. There, we could see, how easy it is, with natives to come in a convention, but it was very difficult the drunken natives to understand. The Saturday was for us a shopping day and we was in the city centre of Belfast, incidentally we have witness the festival of fool. Sunday we was at the port of Belfast. We have seen the titanic museum (someday we will go inside), the titanic dok and many other nice things.

Friday

Yesterday was the last day at work. This day started not so good because I was tired from the last days. So I went to the busstation and was surprised how few people want to go to the university. At work Damian had the task for us to gather some information about outdoor Access Points. He want to establish a wireless connection for the medical devices at a field. He don’t know how big the field is, so it can be between a little court and a big soccer field. So we gave him the information and he left the work. Because Jannik and me had no other work to do we decided to go home. At the way back home we stopped for a little shopping tour. But it was a disaster. I found nothing to buy. But more on that later.
At the evening my roommates and myself went to the Botanic Inn, a popular pub for young people. After I entered the room a smell of piss crawled into my nose. But we decided to stay and hoped it would be better. It was actually better because the door at the smoker room opend very often and this „room“ was only a door outside. After two Budweiser for myself and one more or less for the other we went cheerfully back home.

My birthday in Belfast

Hi guys,

Tuesday was my birthday and it was very funny here in Belfast. On Monday evening,  we have purely celebrated in a pub. Unfortunately we were thrown out at 11 o’Clock pm. Of course have we then further celebrated at „home“ (in the apartment).

A very important tip for the other guys in Belfast: never drink Belfast Ale, it tastes very bad. 😉 (IMHO)

Martin drank it in the pub and I could try it.
