Berlin has us back

Hi guys,

yes, we have it done, we are back in Berlin.
The flight from Dublin to Berlin with RyanAir was, like the flight to Belfast, okay.
My brother had me picked up from the airport in Schönefeld.
We are driven to me at home, to see the football game „Germany vs. Denmark“.

All apprentices which were abroad, were on Monday at school for a „post-processing workshop“, but it was not really a workshop, rather an info event.
An apprentice from each city has told about the stay in his city.
Additional we should fill out a formula, for the „Leonardo da Vinci“-program.

Yesterday was the TELC-test at the OSZIMT, where I was tested for the B2 certificate.
Some questions of the test were difficult, but other not.
I will see what the result is, but unfortunately first in some weeks. 🙁

Today was my first day at work, after the stay abroad.
There was the first task for me, to write this text.

To the conclusion again an big thankyou to all which have given us the opportunity for this internship abroad.

Best regards from Berlin

The last day in Belfast

Hi guys,

yes, today is it the last day of the time in Belfast.

Today we had to pack our bags, and also clean our apartment for the next arriving people from Germany.

We (Martin and I) are gone today in the afternoon, on our last day, in the Morning Star-Restaurant in Belfast, because many people have recommended us.
I have eaten there from the typical Irish buffet. It was very interesting for me, with some new tastes.

Yesterday in my company, I had with Christian and the other guys of Anaeko a small goodbye-celebration with pizza, beer and sometimes good music :D. It was very funny and it was a lot of fun. By the way: it was very interesting to see, how the behaviour from the other employee changed, after some beers mrgreen  .
I must say that the time at Anaeko was very interesting and I have learned there some programming skills, but also social skills with foreign colleagues.

A big thanks to my host-company Anaeko, for the nice time in the company. And also, of course a thanks to Kevin Shine, for the organizational part.

Another weekend ?!

Hi guys,

yes, I write also about my weekend. It was the last usable weekend in North-Ireland.

On Saturday, I was with Martin in the Lagan Valley LeisurePlex, a big leisure pool in Lisburn (in the south of Belfast). There we have done many things. In my opinion was the best in the LisurePlex, a slide, which ended in a big funnel. In the slide, you come very fast in the funnel and you don’t know, where you are. It was a lot of fun.

After them, we have enjoyed a big all-you-can-eat meal in a Chinese restaurant. It was very good, but I guess not good for the figure.

On Sunday, was the big first German football game: Germany versus Portugal.  We was for this game in the „Botanic Inn„. There was a good atmosphere and it was very funny.

This was the last weekend and it is slowly time to say goodbye.

The torch in Belfast

Hi guys,

the Olympic Torch was on Wednesday in Belfast and I was there. Belfast has organized a big celebration, to welcome the torch. Martin and I have waiting for the torch, a little bit outside from the celebration, because it was at the main places to much scramble for us. Besides we had more place to make pictures.

As the torch finally came, we are run with the torchbearers through the complete city, to make good pictures and to see the torch.

It was very exhausting, but we have got many good pictures. On the end of the run, the torch came on stage in front of the city hall. There was lit, a big fire in a goblet.

A interesting information incidentally: each torchbearer has his own torch, so it exist 8000 pieces.
I had never thought, that really each his own torch has.

The queen was celebrated

Hi guys,

the days of the celebration of the queen, are ended.
I and the other guys from our apartment have not really celebrated it.

I was on Monday with Martin in the city hall, where was many entertainment about the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. We have seen dancer from the eighties years and many other things from the former and actual live of the queen.

On Monday was also, beside the City Hall, a international market, with German, France, Mexican and other people from different countries.
Of course with many food. There was for everybody something there. 🙂
It was very interesting to see, what Irishman’s as typical German interpret, for example the Polish „Krakauer“ is according the Irishman a German sausage. Hmm, no comment. 😀

Dublin visit

Hi guys,

on Saturday, we have visited the capital city of Ireland: Dublin.
The day started 7 o’Clock with muesli (like everyday). The bus started 8 o’Clock from the Europa Bus Centre in Belfast.
After the arriving in Dublin we have as the first visited the GPO (General Post Office). Of course have we also seen the amazing „spire“ beside the GPO.

After a small lunch we are gone in the „Phoenix Park“, a very big park in the middle of the city.

Then, we have done a small excursion in a famous prison of Dublin. It is named „Kilmainham Gaol“. It was very interesting to see, how the people previously captured were.

At the end of the day we have drunk a farewell beer in a traditional pub in the „Tempel Bar“-quarter.

Sunshine in Belfast ☼

Hi guys,

sunshine, oh yes, we have now much sunshine in Belfast.
After 4 weeks bad weather, have we now get sunshine, 20°C in the shadow. Thank you dear weather.
In my bed room in the apartment are 27°C, due to our pitch of the roof. Of course we have opened the windows often, but this didn’t helped much.

On work I have the opposite, it is cold inside (on the basis of the air conditioner) and the sun shining on me (a very interesting feeling :D).
After the work, we enjoy the weather.

I hope the good weather remains. 🙂

On Friday we have us thought, that we go in a Pub. The first idea was the „Secret Garden“, but at this weather was it full and it was a big queue before the Pub.  So, we are gone in the „Laverys“ and have once again played billiard.

On the work are not special things happens. I work in the moment on a new Quiz-Game. I think, I come back to this topic in a later post. The work self is still interesting and makes very fun.

Best regards from the sunny Belfast
