Our trip to Giants Causeway was worth the money and time.. also in the bus we could enjoy the beautiful landscape all arround.. the road we were driving at belong to the 10 most beautiful roads in the world (at least this was what the bus driver told us 😉 )
since i got some people being sad of the missing pics i’ve decided to start to show you some.. have fun watching..
The last week was work as always. Just eat sleep work repeat, at least until friday..
Had to register some MS Office installations, do some updates and work further on the form programming. And we finally managed to book our daytour to giants causeway etc for saturday with a discount of 50%.. yay.. 12,50pounds was a nice price and the tour was very very good.. more about it later
.. and it rains the damn whole time.. just bad luck with this weather so there was no chance to do something useful outside.
in the evening we went in a pub and played some billiard drink some beer against the bad weather 😉 but it didnt helped much
anyway it was a nice weekend.. we all played some games, relaxed and did some plans for next weekend to finally do something out there regardless of the weather.. lets see what will happen..
the last two day of working were calm. not much to do, so i was trying around with my sql database and php script for the form. we also had a teammeeting and some of my colleagues told about some workshops they were at the last days about teamwork and how to set up a nice working athmosphere. it was quiet interessting and i think i could get some improvments for myself, especially in the topic of motivation during the week.. you shouldnt wait and pray the whole week its getting weekend and stuff like that 🙂
and i have to be honest.. here in Belfast its much easier to wake up go to work and do what you are there for.. its not because of ireland or belfast.. its all about the time i need to get to work.. 7minutes!!! by walking.. compared to nearly 1,5h i need in Berlin to get to work thats so awesome that i cant even find the right words to express myself. you have so much more freetime every day that you are able to do something beside working and you dont have to torture through the Berlin trainmadness which feels like being in a animal transport.

half of the week is gone and we are looking forward to a nice long weekend (monday is holiday) yiha.
work is fine.. it has now become a mix out of trying to program with html,css,php,javascript,jquery setting up laptops with new win7 and co and to set up an winpe version on an usb stick to capture an image to duplicate all that stuff. but yeah.. i’m on it..
weather is rainy these days.. =/
We have allready used our 20GB internet data volume 🙁 although the bandwith sucks a lot.. we are investigating who or how that could happen.
And yes we cant really complain about this SimCard wlan hotspot thing we get internet from and we cant really complain about having only 20GB volume. Because actually they did something to give us internet. we complained and they „solved“ it, complaining again because we want more? i dont know if its my german attitude that sais no?
but to be honest.. we are all computer scientist (yeah my translating website said this 😉 sounds funny doesn’t it) and it should be clear we do more stuff in the internet than checking emails or write this blog.. yes we got told the living standards are different and we cant expect the same as in germany.. but a cable based internet connection without volume shouldn’t be that high standard, given that germany is on the nearly end at the list with build out network infrastructure. We also live near the university!
But well if i remember right, they told us, they cant get a 2 month only contract with the local provider.. well i would say thats not our problem but… it is!
Dont know how they handle this with all the other people arround here..
if its the same.. sry but thats poor!
anyway.. we all bought our own sim cards with data volume to get more of it.. and i dont think something will change the next 5 weeks but for the future they should definitly find a better solution.
Oh and next month we get new 20GB so we are not that doomed 😉

On saturday we did not that much.. the weather was a bit ugly, so we stayed in our accommodation, watched some films, played some cards, relaxed stuff etc..
In the evening we went out to try a disco we’ve heard from, but.. not really the right music for us, we’ll try another one next weekend we’ve also heard from 😉 After it we went into some pubs to explore more Northern Ireland Nightlife
Wedsday to Friday i got a new task. I finished my laptops and now have to set up an online form for staff member to register their emails. =/ HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascrip, JQuery is what i’m speaking now 🙂 I’m no programer and just have some basics in all off it, but i will try to do my best and after the first two days i could get some scripts working, that was very nice and i really start to like it.
Lets see if i can learn something more next week 😉
Friday, the weekend starts.. lets do something? yes.. we went out into a big bar with serveral floors. On one of them we played billiard and grant us some beer. it was a relaxed evening.

Monday and Thuesday… installing software and Windows updates, set up some driver and set the right User and their rights. We also got a new Dell PC with all Hardware build in to the Monitor with Touchscreen. We installed Windows and looked up if all the drivers are working.
After work its mostly quiet calm, we sit in our living room and drink a beer and talk and make some dinner togehter.

On Saturday we went out to hike up the cavehill. It was an exhausting trip but it was also worth it. The view was breathtaking! At it was.. how i say this.. untouched natur, just some trails to work through the woods and on top you could stay with your toes at a 50m cliff without any barriers and this was very nice. In Germany you would have all those security arrangements or even worse.. a tourist attraction lookout with payment to watch the view..
Had a nice muscle ache and Sunday as always… resting!
