15.04 Chris

Today was just a normal day.

I woke up at 7.00, go to the kitchen to eat my daly muesli anf than go in the bathroom. After watching some BBC news in TV I was going to work. Arriving the Odessy Center I enter the bus, wihtout have to wait.

At work I run some Jmeter tests, every test takes nearly 2 houres. In the meantime i chat to Stephen, I have introduce in an former blog entry.

Now i`ll drink some tea and build an new test wiht Stephen to specify the problem we`ve found in the morning.

Maybe i`ll write in the afternoon a secondy entry, be prepared.

Chris

what else to tell

hey there, long time no see
i noticed i couldnt just keep you up to date with work related stuff and get my three posts a week so im going to write something else. Okay, i could just write down every single task im doing but that wouldnt be a fine read at all.

so… hmm… lets see… what is new
we where shopping yesterday and bought a lot of meat 🙂 but mostly chicken.

The traffic lights are a thing for themselves. The red traffic lights for pedestrians are permenant it seems. So nobody cares at all. Look left, then right, then just walk. Otherwise i could easly spend five minutes just crossing the street.

ah whats interesting too is: you can spend LOADS of money just ordering food. I wanted to order a pizza – guess what 22€ for a normal pizza. All right, i passed on that one.

so, see you tomorrow

the week after the weekend

yeah, you couldn’t read much from me lately.
I still work at the same place. The task i’m busy with at the moment is the SEO of the homepage. SEO means search enginge optimization and is to get the page on the first page of google. We have a meeting once a day, where all of us sit together and dicuss how we can populate our page and get more traffic on it without spending a cent (besides the cost for the internet access 😉 ). No cost is also the policy for the workers here. I have 5 co-workers here which are all unpaid students. Three from spain who can hardly speak any english. It’s sometimes hard to understand them, a chinese who speaks english very well and then there is Virginia from the other FSZ class. All tasks here are those of a webdeveloper. Not exactly the type of work i hoped for, but it’s interisting too.

the private part is kept a secret on purpose. I’m not the guy who needs or wants to tell the world what I am doing the whole day. And because this blog is found in google i keep that part for me

best regards and have a nice friday

Jonas – Some birthdays again-.-

Hi there everybody,

time for me to write something once again. This week is almost at its end so I will give you a short summary of what I have done so far. After the issue with the printer(read earlier entry) I began to watch some tutorials for image editing programs. Once again I discovered a field where I never want to work in(I like designs like on  Mateuszs website :D). But for the time being I will endure it and try to learn as much as possible. Yesterday I designed a little birthday gift card for my best friend and roommate Florian(but more on that later). Because I used the programs I am learning right now(Paint.net and Adobe InDesign CS5) it was killing two birds with one stone. Today I was so tired that I missed my stop and drove all the way to the airport and back to my company(40mins late-.-). However I am motivated to survive this day and enjoy the sun which came out right now.

A normal work day

Hi everybody,

First we had a meeting with Karen and we discussed the ideas to improve the website. The content of the discussion was to find out which ideas are possible and which are impossible to implement on the website.

The Doo-Lally website has same problems with the speed. The backend is the reason why the website is load so slowly. Also we had to find out how we can speed up WordPress.

I asked Karen why the company is call doolally. You have to know doolally is similar to go crazy. The team went doolally to find a name for the company. That is the reason for the name of the company.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday

From Monday to Tuesday I was working for “Tech Matic” again.

https://tech-matic.com/

our task was to disassemble an infinite number of desktop-pcs and sorted the hardware after hard drive, motherboard, power supply, fan and case. At first it was fun, but after you do it over and over again it gets boring. Best thing that

happened there was our Russian coworker. When something wouldn’t come off, he just smashed in there. It was hilarious.

It’s interesting how much a trash-pc is worth. The worth of the single parts doesn’t matter. The mass makes the prize. The gold gets extracted from the cpus and is sold for more than 900 € per kilogram. Furthermore Joe gets a lot of hard drives which have to be destroyed. Many banks want their sensible data made unreadable. The easiest way to accomplish this is to chop them.

Joe once showed us, how the machine chops the hard disks. Glowing sparks came out of the machine.  The time was okay and you could see what happens to old pcs when we don’t need them anymore.

Paul Panser – Many things happened

Hello my friends of the sun!

I’m sorry, but I was really busy the last week, so I couldn’t write any more blog entrys…

Take your time, it’s very long ^^

Wow where should I begin? Thursday last week I was at 0830 o’clock at work. There I had to get to know the infastructure of my company, but there was a more important matter. The air conditioner in our datacenter gets renewed and they would shut down every server in the datacenter. That’s why my peers shutted down every single vmware server remotely on thursday. I had to watch them carefully and by the way Alan, my project boss, tried to explain everything to me. I really learned a lot and I saw that my peers are very skilled. In the afternoon I met with Sven in front of the Odyssey. There we were watching the movie ‚Sucker Punch‘. Note for all men: WATCH IT! ^^ „Paul Panser – Many things happened“ weiterlesen
