JJ

On Thursday I was in a recycling company. This company buys old computers and rebuilds them. Our task was to check a fully stacked pallet of “Dell” computers on hardware and function.

So we opened the computers and looked for CPU, RAM, Hard Drive and other cards.

Finally, we booted the PC. The whole day we did this with the help of “JJ”. JJ is a Spanish student and he also makes an internship at this company. Everybody called him JJ, because nobody could pronounce his name correctly. Furthermore they told us again that the sun shines very rarely in Ireland. Because it was a sunny day we were allowed to leave at 4 pm. WOW fantastic.

Actually I wanted to talk about the traffic lights, because they confuse me. But I won‘t do it now.

See you.

sunshine

Hello everybody.

Yesterday was the first day at my internship. I had to get up early in the morning, when the sun came up, because my company is far away from the Apartments. The company, named Computer-Doctor, is a small company of nine employees. They are specialized in repairing Laptops.

That includes Virus, Spyware, Internet problems, defect Motherboards or other things like that. Three vans of the company are mostly on the road to send technicians to the different private households or businesses.

That’s cool, because Dustin (my colleague) and I shall go with them from time to time. Whenever I talk about “we” I mean Dustin and me. The first tasks were to check some laptops and to find out what is wrong with it. After that we had to test a new label printer.

The following task will be to improve the inventory system of the company. Because of the great sunshine, which is not often in Ireland, we were sent home early.

Finally it was a funny and nice day and I think a lot of those days will follow.

The first days

Hi @ all how is going?

The „new live“ for 2 month in Ireland started with the bus tour to the lad lane apartments.

The first task was to find a shop to buy something to food, to drink and to clean up.

At tuesday I was looking up my bus station. First it was a little bit difficult to understand the timetable but now it is easy.

I work with Oliver Knabe (apprentice from Strato) in the same company.

The topic of the first work day from the company doo-lally was to understand their tasks. The company sell clothing, shoes and accessories.

Today i got my first little project. I got a close look to the website www.doo-lally.com and I geathered some ideas to improve the website. We have to improve our knowledge about seo (search engine optimization) and to work out how the company can improve their ranking at a search engine.

Paul Panser – Start of the First Week

Hi there busy readers!

The first week in Belfast had started early on Monday.  We were supposed to meet with Kevin Shine at the  RSM Tenon Office. He introduced us to the working life in Belfast and told us how we have to behave. After that some of us had their first interviews with their work placements. The rest of us, me included, were free for the rest of the day and went trough the shopping area around the Victoria Street. We drank some coffee and searched for an electronics shop. Maybe you don’t believe me, but I think there is only one shop in Belfast which sells only electronics stuff. „Paul Panser – Start of the First Week“ weiterlesen

Jonas Ehrhardt – First Day @ work

Hi people in Germany, Northern Ireland or wherever you are,

hereby I am the first to report about my internship in Ireland. My company is Hager Limited which is a branch of Hager Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG in Germany.

The company is located near the Dublin Airport so I have to stay up 2.5hours before work begins(I have flexible working hours). The bus doesn’t have an announcement system so I missed my stop and got lost. So I just called my supervisor and we found out that I was less than 100meters away from my destination.

First of all it is a small branch with about 15 employees(including teleworkers) but there are only 4 here at the moment. My task is to update the web page (hager.ie). First I have to read through a lot of IT Rules and the Masterbrand Guide(how to use the CMS). However when I read the web page closely I don’t fear lack of work…

I look forward to hear/read of others working experiences

Greetings Jonas

Paul Panser – First Weekend

Hello folks, Panzaaa I am greeting you =)

The first two days of our journey were very eventful. We waited a long time at the airport and for smokers like Pascal and myself it were very hard to endure. The fact that Alexander doesn’t were allowed to fly with us to Ireland took me really hard, because he was supposed to be my roommate. The fly was good and the bus drive was good too, but most of the time  I was asleep. „Paul Panser – First Weekend“ weiterlesen
