The Final Entry

Hello Everyone,

I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to update the Blog until now and with this entry I will summarize my last week in Belfast.

Well to be fair most of the week I was lying in bed because I had a terrible cold, which I still haven’t fully recovered from. 🙁 It all started on Monday evening and things got worse on Tuesday, it was a good thing that the other guys went on their tour to Giant’s Causeway so I could at least get some rest. But before I got into bet to get the needed sleep I went to the city center to buy souvenirs for my family and friends, which made my cold only worse I think but still, I didn’t want to go back to Germany empty handed.
The next day I felt a little better and luckily the fever went down a bit so I was able to go to Cultra to say my final goodbyes to everyone at work and to return the stuff we borrowed. I arrived at Cultra around noon and I was able to eat a last lunch with Graham, ok it was only soup so no real lunch but better than nothing. I took pictures with me and my colleagues and thank everyone for their hospitality, we said our farewells and I went back to Belfast. The rest of the day I spend packing my stuff and sleeping.
On Thursday morning we left for Dublin to spend at least one day in the capital of the republic of Ireland, our bus left at 10 and we arrived in Dublin at around 12:30. We where invited to store our stuff at the apartment of Erik and Stefan and they gave us a warm welcome, their apartment was just awesome and we all got a little jealous. We spend the rest of the day wandering around Dublin and where amazed how different it from Belfast, we sat in a park and enjoyed the sun, went to a tea house where I had one of the best chai teas ever, ate a burrito and spend another few hours at Erik and Stefan’s apartment. At around 11pm our Taxi arrived to take us to the to Dublin airport, our driver was a little overwhelmed by the amount of luggage we had, so we had to take most of our belonging onto our laps.  Our flight left at 7:35 so we had to kill more than 8 hours, a few of us slept on the floor, other spent the time watching videos, reading or exploring the terminal.
After the check in we where reunited with our classmates and we left Ireland for Germany.
The flight was more like a torture for me, because of my cold I couldn’t adjust to the  pressure changes in the cabin which lead to painful ear pressure and inflammation of the middle ear. After we landed I got my suitcase a fast as possible and got picked by my dad at the airport.
I was glad to be back home but I couldn’t really enjoy it because of the pain in my ears, so I had to go to a first aid ward to get medication and just went to sleep.

Well that’s it my last entry, again I’m sorry it’s a bit short and all but I’m still sick ;), I hope you enjoyed reading my entries and got a, more or less, good impression of how my life in Belfast was like.

Thanks for reading!

Yours sincerely,

Tobias
