End of a nice internship

Hi Guy’s

The last week is over. My last two workdays were very nice. I finished my project and at Tuesday after lunch I demonstrated it to my colleagues. They were very happy about the result. After my last day I got a little card with wishes to me from my colleagues. I was happy about that because it was a nice gesture and the praise to my project was the best present 😀 .

Yesterday was a quiet day. We relaxed at home and walked a little bit in Dublin. At 6 p.m. Stefan, Moppi and I went to Nick, Lars, Felix, Mike and Marius. In their garden we played ping-pong and did a barbeque. It was a very nice evening.
Today we eat our breakfast in the O’Sheas pub. It was delicious and after the breakfast we drank an Irish coffee ^^

At 1 p.m. our colleagues from Belfast arrived. They left their bags at out place. After a little talk we showed them the city and relaxed in the Saint Steven’s Green Park. All in all it was a very nice last day.

Now we cook our last dinner in Dublin. It was a very nice day.

Tomorrow or Saturday you can read my result about this internship.

See you in Germany 😉

Party and CL Final

HI Guy’s

Friday was a nice day. At work it was OK. The work was normal and I got the news, that I have holidays at Wednesday and Thursday.

So my last day is Tuesday. Now I have a little bit of stress, because I want to finish my project.

At home I eat something and after the dinner we met with our colleagues in a little nice pub. After some drinks we went to a club. It was a very nice night and at 5a.m. I was at home.

Saturday was very quiet. I bought me new shoes and food for the last week. The weather was very nice. I did nothing but I relaxing the afternoon.

In the evening I met my colleagues in the city center. We searched for a pub to watch the Champions League Final. After a long search we found a nice one.

The game was nice. In this pub, there were other German guys, which were so crazy because one girl (Bayern Munich fan) was shouting the whole time.

See you later

Just a couple of days to go…

Hi folks, it’s me again.

On Friday we were going out and it was again a lot of fun. On Saturday we watched the Champions League Final and after that, some colleagues and I tried to party again but we were not fit enough after we partied hard on Friday.

The rest of the weekend was pretty quiet and thankfully I got two free days (Wednesday and Thursday) to prepare for my departure to Germany.

At work, I am preparing all the Documents I need and finishing all the projects I was working on.

It was a nice and interesting time here in Dublin but I will be glad to be back in Germany.

If there won’t happen any interesting things in the last couple of days, I won’t write any further Blog post. So you won’t see anything new from me.

Regards,

Markus

One of the last posts…

Hi folks, it’s me again.

This week was a pretty quiet week like the last few, so this will be a short blog post.

At work we are trying to set up a socket server, which could be difficult without any possibility to use a Command Line Interface on the current webserver. So we have to take a look at other possibilities.

We are also making a lot of debugging and testing with the micro controller we are using in the parking machine.

As for it is Friday, I am going out to have some drinks and I’m curious at what time I will be at home.

There will also be the Champions League Final tomorrow and at some Pubs there are already Flags of Dortmund and Munich outside on the walls.

We try to watch the match and have some fun.

That’s all for now. I think you can expect the next blog post in a couple of days.

See you soon.

Markus

Middle of a normal week

Hi guy’s

How are you? I hope well.

Here in Dublin all is fine, but I’m likewise lucky and unlucky that the internship is soon come to an end.

I wish I would have more free time in the last days, to see something and relax.

Yesterday was a good hard workday, I finished the basic part of my project. Now I thought that I could save it on the database, but Richard gave me another task.

First part of the day, I fixed some issues and changed a part in my program swiftly. I changed the part, where I split up the Json string in own attributes. Now I don’t use a splitter anymore but a Json deserilizer. This Deserilizer splits up the Json string into attributes and deletes all unnecessary chars. So I save 10 lines of code, because now I use only 2 lines of code. 😉

After lunch Richard gave me a new task. I am to built a DataTable, which downloads my statistic from SendGrid in real-time. Also, I have a new hard challenge :D!

In the evening I eat with my colleagues in a Japanese restaurant. It is called Yamamori Noodles. It was delicious and my boss paid the dinner :D. It was a really nice evening. We laughed a lot and talked much.

As I went home I talked with an Irish guy, because he wished me a good night. He was very friendly but his accent was very hard to understand J so I misunderstood some sentences.

Today I read a lot about my next step and after that I planned something. It was a very hard day and I did not program that much.

After the workday Stefan and I went shopping for some food. At home I cooked and cleaned a little bit. Now I am relaxing with beer.

See you later

Start in week 7

Hi guys,

Monday was a good start for the week. At work I fixed all my program issues swiftly. After lunch I planned to built a new method, which gets statistics from my newsletter. So I wrote my HTTP request and a helper method, which reads the ID from the selected newsletter.

I thought all worked fine, but after sending the request I got a HTTP response of 500. It told me that the server from „SendGrid“ was unreachable. My first speculation was, that the error was on my side, but after a test from the SendGrid web API itself I got the same HTTP response code (500).
So I figured that the error is on the server-side and I was a little bit more happy.

At home I brought my pictures into order and relaxed the evening.

Tuesday wasn’t so good at work. As I began, I got an email from the “SendGrid” support team. They told me that my API call is not supported. I was very confused because yesterday a support guy told me something different. So I can’t built my project. I wrote another email to the SendGrid support team. After that I thought about what to do the rest day. I decided to improve the code I put up so far. I built in some labels, which show you whether the process is successful or done.

At home I cooked salmon with rice and spinach and relaxed the evening.

See you later

An awesome weekend

Yesterday was the tour to Giants Causeway. First I overslept, but thanks to Stefan I did not miss the tour. The whole day was rainy, but we saw a very nice place. First we visited the rope bridge. Even though it rained very hard we visited the bridge with much patience. After a long drive we arrived at the Giants Causeway. The rain was worst at this place. We visited the Giants Causeway too. It was very slippery there. But the moment at the ocean was really overwhelming.

Today Stefan and I did a shopping tour. After this “tour” we enjoyed the sun in the Saint Stephens Green Park. Now we are going to watch Breaking Bad and relax.

See you later guys

Almost done

Hi guy’s,

Thursday and Friday I was able to proceed with my program quite far. My task was to program a Graphic User Interface, which processes HTTP requests and Database queries. Also, I built a lot of buttons and text fields. In the upper picture you can see my program. For a little explanation, it sends a HTTP request to a webpage (SendGrid). You get information about your email history and the status of your sent mails. These two days were very hard concerning programming, because I had many issues. But at Friday everything worked fine. Richard controlled it and he was very satisfied. So this two days were very nice :D. In the next week I’ll publish my project and connect it with the database.

See you

A quiet week… :D ( no pun intended)

Hi guy’s

how are you?

Everything is fine here in Dublin. The weather is not like a typical May in Germany, but it’s ok.
Monday was a normal work day. I fixed some program issues in my web API and I showed Richard my progress.
He and I were happy that the web API is running. After some emails he gave me a new task. I should change the UTC time, which was set as a Unix timestamp, into the regular time.
At home I didn’t do much. I was shopping at Lidl and cooked. Also I cleaned the bathroom.

Yesterday I changed the timestamp and showed Richard the result. Also we talked about the next step. I thought that I can now save the data into the database, but he would like me to do other things. So I now have a new task. I should put things into order and so on. I can say, that I programmed here in Dublin the whole time.

At home I cooked and relaxed the evening.

See you later

A quiet week…

Hi folks, it’s me again.

It’s been awhile since my last post but again there is nothing really new to tell.

During the weekend I was a little bit ill so I wasn’t going out or doing some sightseeing.

At work we are trying to finish our code and create the documentary for it and create some flow charts for the further testing which will start during this week (at least I hope so).

As Alex mentioned, the beds are killing us.
Even after my massage I am already feeling some tensions in my back and neck again.

But we are almost finished here and I look forward to see my own bed in Germany.

That’s all for today.

See you soon.

Markus
