Just a couple of days to go…

Hi folks, it’s me again.

 

On Friday we were going out and it was again a lot of fun. On Saturday we watched the Champions League Final and after that, some colleagues and I tried to party again but we were not fit enough after we partied hard on Friday.

 

The rest of the weekend was pretty quiet and thankfully I got two free days (Wednesday and Thursday) to prepare for my departure to Germany.

 

At work, I am preparing all the Documents I need and finishing all the projects I was working on.

 

It was a nice and interesting time here in Dublin but I will be glad to be back in Germany.

 

If there won’t happen any interesting things in the last couple of days, I won’t write any further Blog post. So you won’t see anything new from me.

One of the last posts…

Hi folks, it’s me again.

 

This week was a pretty quiet week like the last few, so this will be a short blog post.

 

At work we are trying to set up a socket server, which could be difficult without any possibility to use a Command Line Interface on the current webserver. So we have to take a look at other possibilities.

We are also making a lot of debugging and testing with the micro controller we are using in the parking machine.

 

As for it is Friday, I am going out to have some drinks and I’m curious at what time I will be at home.

There will also be the Champions League Final tomorrow and at some Pubs there are already Flags of Dortmund and Munich outside on the walls.

We try to watch the match and have some fun.

A quiet week…

Hi folks, it’s me again.

 

It’s been awhile since my last post but again there is nothing really new to tell.

 

During the weekend I was a little bit ill so I wasn’t going out or doing some sightseeing.

 

At work we are trying to finish our code and create the documentary for it and create some flow charts for the further testing which will start during this week (at least I hope so).

 

As Alex mentioned, the beds are killing us.
Even after my massage I am already feeling some tensions in my back and neck again.

 

But we are almost finished here and I look forward to see my own bed in Germany.

A German Final…

Hi folks, it’s me again.

 

Today we watched the match between Bayern München and Barcelona. Man, what a match.

First I thought that the Trainer should have changed Arjen Robben but later I was glad the he didn’t.

The match was so intense and we all had a lot of fun.

A German Champions League Final, awesome.

At this point I want to greet someone special in Bavaria and say congratulation. 🙂

 

At work we are finalizing our web application and are now trying to implement more and more JavaScript, JQuery and Ajax to beautify the Webpage.

Also I am learning more OOP concepts for PHP and JavaScript to make our code easier to maintain.

The Journey starts…

Hi everyone,

today our Journey starts. At about 11:20 a.m. the departure began and we were getting excited more and more.
We arrived at 12:36 p.m. at the Dublin Airport. The flight went really smooth with only minor turbulences.

The weather was awesome at our arrival. The Sun was shining and it was pretty warm outside.

After we left the airport, we were brought to our accommodations here in Dublin by car.

Following are two pictures I made while we were driving through the city.

 

 

 

After the check in at our apartment, located at Lad Lane, we took the chance to discover some of our surrounding area.
We found some interessting spots, like Pubs and some possibilities to buy some food.

We „visited“ a Burger King restaurant and were absolutly shocked about the price differences between Berlin and Dublin.

 

 

If we want to go to the shopping sites, we have to cross a small canal.
The possibilities to cross it look like the following:

 

 

We still have to buy some things that we need. Like Toiletepaper or some cheap dishtowels.

Our apartment itself is functional but clean, not more. Right now we are four people in here but the apartment is way too small. It would only suite two.
The kitchen is relatively small but should meet our needs.

 

 

The view from our balcony is really pretty. I will try to make a photo at sunset on the next days but the view at about 14 p.m. is also pretty nice.

 

 

This was our first day in Dublin. Hopefully the other days will be at least the same or even better.
As for me, I am enjoying a small packet of salty snack biscuits and let the day end.

Irland und Meine Erwartungen

Meine Erwartungen an denn Irland Aufenthalt.

Ich gehe mit gemischten Gefühlen nach Irland zum einen freue ich mich ein neues Land kennen zu lernen, neue Kulturen zu erleben und dort mein Englisch zu verbessern. Allerdings ist es zu Hause auch Schön 😛

Des Weiteren weiß ich nicht wie ich dort klarkommen werde in welch ein Unternehmen ich komme, was ich da tuhen werde, wie den Menschen dort sind und wie die Unterkünfte dort sind . Und dann ist alles schon aufregend und vielleicht ein wenig beängstigend. Doch gehe ich allgemein mit positiven Erwartungen nach Irland und bin schon darauf gespant wie es wird.

 

Vorbereitung auf Irland

Heute, am Montag den 18.03.2013, haben wir eine kleine Einführung in das Blog-System, welches wir in Irland nutzen dürfen.

Um ein wenig vertrauter mit dem Blog-System zu werden, erstellen wir derzeit alle unseren ersten Blogeintrag.
Neben dem einfachen schreiben, üben wir gleichzeitig noch Bilder und Videos (von z.B. Youtube) mit in den Blog einzubinden.

Erwartungen an Irland

Im Zuge der Blog-Vorbereitung hier ein kleiner Einblick in die
„ersten großen Taten“ in Irland.

Natürlich sehen wir zu erst den Flughafen und anschließen die „Schlafgelegenheit“. Diese sehen dann unterumständen auch so aus:

Wohin es danach geht steht noch offen. Allerdings kommen wir am Wochenende (Samstag) an, sodass es sich vielleicht anbietet, sich die Umgebung genauer anzuschauen – je nach dem wie fit ich nach der Ankunft noch bin. Ansonsten steht wahrscheinlich ausschlafen auf dem Programm.

Später will ich mir definitiv die grünen Felder anschauen, die man aus dem TV kennt. Außerdem verkosten sich die getränke auch nicht von selbst.

Das Auslandspraktikum

Mit der Entsendung von Fachinformatik-Azubis in ein Auslandspraktikum setzt der afib (Ausbildungsverbund Fachinformatik Berlin) im Raum Berlin/Brandenburg zum vierten Mal ein weiteres Zeichen zur Steigerung der Qualität in der IT-Ausbildung. Die angehenden Fachinformatiker des Lehrjahres 2011 sind Teil einer Gruppe mehrerer Auszubildenden, die ab 08.04.2013 einen achtwöchigen Auslandsaufenthalt in Irland und Nordirland verbringen werden.

Der afib hatte schon im Jahr 2008 in enger Kooperation mit dem Oberstufenzentrum für Informations- und Medizintechnik (OSZ IMT), der STRATO AG, der Deutschen Telekom und dem Institut für lebenslanges Lernen in Europa (ILE-Berlin) das Projekt “Europaerfahrung für Azubis in IT-Berufen“ (E-FAIT) initiiert und 14 Fachinformatik-Auszubildende nach Irland entsandt.

Auch das diesjährige Projekt “Training in Europe Supplemented” (TIES) wird im Rahmen der Mobilitäts-Maßnahme des EU-Bildungsprogramms LEONARDO DA VINCI durchgeführt, welches u.a. Vermittlungs- und Austauschprojekte für Personen in der beruflichen Erstausbildung fördert. Ziel der Maßnahme ist die “Förderung der grenzüberschreitenden Mobilität von Menschen in Berufsausbildung, insbesondere jungen Menschen”.
Unseren Auszubildenden ermöglicht das Auslandspraktikum, ihre Kenntnisse und Fähigkeiten im konkreten Arbeitsumfeld zu erproben und zu erweitern.

Durch die Begegnung mit Menschen aus anderen Ländern können sie ihre so genannten Schlüsselqualifikationen erweitern – beispielsweise Kommunikations- und Kooperationsfähigkeit, Toleranz, Offenheit, Anpassungsfähigkeit und Kenntnisse über andere Lebensweisen. Diese Zusatzqualifizierung ermöglicht bei späteren Bewerbungen einen leichteren Einstieg in den regionalen, nationalen oder internationalen Arbeitsmarkt.
Eine weitere Qualifizierung erwartet die Irland-Besucher bei deren Rückkehr. Sie erhalten nach einer Prüfung ihrer Englischkenntnisse ein europaweit anerkanntes telc-Sprachenzertifikat.

In diesem Webtagebuch berichten die “Irland-Azubis” regelmäßig über Ihre Erfahrungen und Erlebnisse während des Auslands-Praktikums.
