Visit from Berlin

Hi guys,

on Tuesday came visitors from Berlin to Belfast. Who? Mr. Bavar (my supervisor) and Mrs. Neumann (supervisor from the MPIB).

They have visited the companies and accommodations from the AFIB members.

They were at 11 o’clock in my company, where we have talked about the work at Anaeko. Later came my responsible person from Anaeko to us and we spoke all together .

On the late afternoon, the complete AFIB went in the “Filthy MacNasty’s”-Pub, a small Pub in the Dublin Road, there we drunk, of course only coke. =D
It was nice to speak once again with people from Germany.

At 7:30 p.m. our visitors walked to the train station to drive back to Dublin.

A half day on the Titanic

Hi guys,

no, I was not really on the Titanic, but close to it, because we (Martin and I) was on Saturday in the world famous Titanic-Museum. It is one of the landmarks of Belfast.

The Titanic-Museum

We started on Saturday noon to drive with a taxi to the Titanic-Museum. Arrived there we have picked up our tickets (on the website reserved) at a ticket office. After 30min waiting, we could start in the “Titanic World”. 🙂

The start began with the former living in Belfast and how the shipping industry arose. After them we could drive with an elevator up on the titanic scaffold (20m high).

After the crossing of the scaffolding, we could with a small, I would say space shuttle, fly around the working mens, which have worked on the titanic. We could they see on screens, camouflaged as windows.

On the end of the museum, we could marvel the titanic wreck under our foots, it was amazing.

Pub hopping

Hi guys,

we was on Friday „pub hopping“.

The first pub was our favourite bar „the Lavery’s“, there we have played pool billiard. But not normally pool with different coloured balls, but orange and red balls, this was new for me.

After that, we were in a gothic themed bar with the name „Benedict Bar“, a bar with cool music, but many „old“ people (to „old“ people).

On the end, we are gone in the „vBar“, a very cool, but small bar. Unfortunately, it was very empty. But apart from that , I can they recommend.

On the end, we are gone home and had there still a little bit fun.

Cinema visit – The Avengers

Hi guys,

on Tuesday we watched the film „the avengers“ from Marvel in the Movie House in the Dublin Road. We watched the film in 3D, with very cool special effects. The best was, that it has cost only 3 pound (the offer is named “ Crazy Tuesday“), I think that is a very cheap price for so big entertainment.

The Movie House

The film itself was adventurous and has contain many exciting scenes.

I have to say, that it better is, when you have watched also the other Marvel movies. Without this, it is sometimes difficult to understand the story.

For this cheap price can I everybody recommend to go on Tuesday in the Movie House.

The mountain – Divis

Hi guys,

the third week is now also done and the weekend was very adventurous.
We climbed on Saturday on the mountain with the name “Divis”, he is 478m tall and is the highest mountain of the “Belfast Hills”.
We have cancelled the climb at 280m, because we was very exhausted and we didn’t know how the weather will be, when we further climb.

Monday and more

Hi guys,

my first topic today is Monday, the bank holiday, on this day was unfortunately very modest weather, on basis of this have we the complete day watched television (Bones). 🙂 Incidentally, Bones is our daily television program, because Roxi has ca. 4 seasons. The guys, which not like the TV-series, have bad luck. For all people who not know what or who Bones is: click here.

Yesterday, we had a funny evening, because Timo did made funny things with our pictures. For example he has replaced our heads with his own head. It looks very funny. 😆
What Timo can create with Photoshop, is very cool. My respect!

1/4 is done

Hi guys,

1/4 of our time is done, but fortunately we have even 3/4 of our time.

Okay, to the weekend:

On Friday evening, we was in the Botanic Inn, a small pub near the Botanic Garden. There, we could see, how easy it is, with natives to come in a convention, but it was very difficult the drunken natives to understand. The Saturday was for us a shopping day and we was in the city centre of Belfast, incidentally we have witness the festival of fool. Sunday we was at the port of Belfast. We have seen the titanic museum (someday we will go inside), the titanic dok and many other nice things.

Second week at work

Hi guys,

yes, the week is done, and I tell you today, what happened on my work.
On Tuesday have I got my new PC, now I can faster work :mrgreen:. The true reason was, that I have stole a other employee his desk.
So, I have on Tuesday and Wednesday my PC set up. Now can I work with Linux (XUbuntu in detail), that is very good.

Our accommodation

Hi guys,

today I show you our accommodation in the „university court“. I live with Christian, Timo, Kevin, Roxana and my roommate Martin there.
The accommodation lies between 2 churches, but fortunately they seem do not to bell. 🙂
Cool too on our accommodation is, that I have only 10min footpath to my work.
