The last two days were really successfully I think. I have try to be a boss and it was ok. We have done all given tasks and learn a lot. The Portuguese Trainees saw and learned a lot and us too. We have set up a server for the student’s which include a fileserver and a monitoring system for all computer in the room. We have shown the Portuguese guys the hardware of a computer and explain the main parts. It was a good repetition. After some time you forgot something. We all have clean nearly 20 computer and check all the hardware of them. You don´t know what kind of dirt you can find in a used computer. We have complete all given task this week and I think it is the main thing. Let´s see what happened on weekend.

On Tuesday in our company are two new trainee from Portugal. In addition my boss in Dublin leave us for this week so we had to teach the two newcomer, show them where they can find anything and show them same basic stuff. Our boss has choose a team leader for this week and selected me. It is cool to be a boss of a group but you also have responsibility for the team and you have to assign tasks. I Think I am a god and fair boss but this job can also be ungrateful. The next days will show it.

This Friday we went to the headquarter of Facebook again to do what we do every day by Facebook. This day we have the special task to decode a hard drive password. We have manage it with the hddunlocker. It is a great tool to decode a hard drive password. After work is done we play a few games pool and went to the apartments. This was the first day I feel the rain of Ireland. It was no heavy rain but there was a powerful wind. I had luck, all the other rain this time in Dublin I saw through a windows…
On the weekend I do nothing interesting so see you next week

half of the week is gone and we are looking forward to a nice long weekend (monday is holiday) yiha.
work is fine.. it has now become a mix out of trying to program with html,css,php,javascript,jquery setting up laptops with new win7 and co and to set up an winpe version on an usb stick to capture an image to duplicate all that stuff. but yeah.. i’m on it..
weather is rainy these days.. =/
Wednesday we present our results of the last days and analyze that. In my installation file are the most updates integrated and it should be easy to include the drivers and some other stuff but which will be seen the next days. For this week it is enough to install windows 7 with the most of the updates. On Thursday we clean up some old HP computers for resell. We also check the hardware, run a memory check and put 4Gb of ram in every machine. It was a lot of work.

On Sunday the weather was not so good for the first time but in Dublin are so many places which i don’t visit before.
For that reason I visited the harbour of Dublin this day.
It’s also an interessting and impressive place of Dublin.
The rest of the day I spent time with my colleagues.

On Saturday-morning I was shopping in the O‘ Connell Street.
Afterwards I eat a kebab there. The kebab in Dublin tastes very well but still different to Berlin.
Furthermore I was in the district of Temple Bar. I was in a Pub which has the same name like the district, the Temple Bar.
After it I was in diffrent shops near Temple Bar.
In the afternoon I visited other places of Dublin, for example the 3arena etc..

First of all we had a conversation with our boss. We had to hold the conversation with him, because we thought that an dropbox is not the right solution for the company. So we had informed us about other Cloud-solutions.
Furthermore we connected the Server to an KVM-Switch and tried to get access to the servers.
In the evening we visited places at Dublin in the darkness. The pictures are better than words…
used all our volume :(
We have allready used our 20GB internet data volume 🙁 although the bandwith sucks a lot.. we are investigating who or how that could happen.
And yes we cant really complain about this SimCard wlan hotspot thing we get internet from and we cant really complain about having only 20GB volume. Because actually they did something to give us internet. we complained and they „solved“ it, complaining again because we want more? i dont know if its my german attitude that sais no?
but to be honest.. we are all computer scientist (yeah my translating website said this 😉 sounds funny doesn’t it) and it should be clear we do more stuff in the internet than checking emails or write this blog.. yes we got told the living standards are different and we cant expect the same as in germany.. but a cable based internet connection without volume shouldn’t be that high standard, given that germany is on the nearly end at the list with build out network infrastructure. We also live near the university!
But well if i remember right, they told us, they cant get a 2 month only contract with the local provider.. well i would say thats not our problem but… it is!
Dont know how they handle this with all the other people arround here..
if its the same.. sry but thats poor!
anyway.. we all bought our own sim cards with data volume to get more of it.. and i dont think something will change the next 5 weeks but for the future they should definitly find a better solution.
Oh and next month we get new 20GB so we are not that doomed 😉

On saturday we did not that much.. the weather was a bit ugly, so we stayed in our accommodation, watched some films, played some cards, relaxed stuff etc..
In the evening we went out to try a disco we’ve heard from, but.. not really the right music for us, we’ll try another one next weekend we’ve also heard from 😉 After it we went into some pubs to explore more Northern Ireland Nightlife
