Northern Ireland Election
This week was kind of silent. On thursday the elections in Northern Ireland took place. On top of that my chief is member of a political party. He worked for his party this week and wasn´t that much in the office.
Having Fun With Our Flatmates
Last week Hendrik and I had some fun with our flatmates. Actually Anja will leave our house to do some medicine studys back home in germany. Just then, as chance would have it, she will move to berlin for one month.
Men in the Kitchen! The Caveman Instincts!
This week we thought like: ‚We need steaks!‘.
Well it was very easy to decide it with our colleagues. So we went on the St. George’s Market again. First we were a bit confused about how many steaks we would need. After a small argument we bought like 9 steaks. I bought a special one myself. It was a 28 day dry aged rib eye steak.
Small Business
This week ‚full‘ of work is done. We were pretty busy at ‚Wilson Computers‘. We had to do some jobs on the countryside of bangor. We visited a pet obedience school and some small shops. Most of the tasks were like: ‚Well, i’ve got an 8 year old pc with vista and I m not sure, if it is still secure.‘ or ‚My printer isn´t working!‘.
It is kind of easy work, but it needs to be done.
Lazy Sunday
And the weekend is already over. Well not really, there are still a few hours left.
Happy Ireland
After the first weeks I am glad to be here in Northern Ireland. It is always nice to talk to people over here. It is very easy to break the ice, while having the first conversation to foreign people. There are a few simple reasons. I have noticed that nearly every person is open-minded, always friendly and helpful.
St. George’s Market
Yesterday we went to the famous St. George’s Market. It is known for its multicultural food, arts and live music. I thought it would be an ‚open-air‘ market, but it’s fully covered. Besides I heared that this place is known for its food festivals, bigger music events and some other exhibitions.
I Would Walk 500 Miles
On saturday, we (Marcel, Gino, Hendrik and I) walked up to Divis Mountain. We started at our home and it took like two hours to get there. The Divis Mountain is 478 m tall and is the highest mountain in Belfast. „I Would Walk 500 Miles“ weiterlesen
Daily Routine
After the second week at work it feels slowly like a daily routine.
In our workshop there are a lot of bad old machines, which needs an individually ‚treatment‘. Sometimes there are software problem or otherwise a hardware problem, which is caused by the old machine or an old operating systems (like Windows XP, Vista or NT [2000]).
