Dear friends and family,
Today I want you to introduce my company, which is called Andor Technology Ltd. Ltd stands for Limited company and it is a capital company. Andor is based in Belfast, but they have many sites around the world for example USA, Japan, China, Canada and so on. They are operates at the high-value end of the global scientific digital camera market. The company was setup in 1989 out of Queens’s University in Belfast, and now employs over 400 people in 16 offices worldwide and distributes its products to 10.000 customers in 55 countries.
In the IT department are working 3 workers. There is John Magennis, who is the boss or the head of the IT department, Stephen Dickey and Stephen Murray. Most of time I working with the two Stephens, because John is very busy. Of course John comes sometimes to me and also wants something from me.
In Northern Ireland it is very typical to call the workers with the first name. So at my first day John welcomed me and introduced himself with “My name is John, nice to meet you”. Furthermore all of the workers, who I met, are very friendly.

On Monday I got a new task to buildup 6 Computers with Monitors. You can show a picture of the packed/ unpacked computers and monitors below the text.
On Tuesday I had to installed Windows 7 Professional 64 bit on all 6 computers and connected the computers to the network.
When the computers ran John told that the view is very similar to the spaceship Enterprise. We all agreed with it and laughed together.
At the end of the day John said to me: Good Job, man!
That was a really good day for me, but there is another reason. Probably I will write another article about this, but I could not promise.
