Crumlin Road Gaol
Today we were at Crumlin Road Gaol. It’s a jail near the city center. It was built in 1846 and closed in 1996.
Review of the first week in Belfast
After just sly over a week it is time to recall what was good, what was bad and what was new.
One sunny day in Belfast
Monday was a long day for us. Together with Stefanie and Max we decided to do some sightseeing at „Belfast Castle“ and „Cave Hill“.
It was a prefect, sunny day to do so. Our trip started at Ormeau Road at around 1pm by ordering 2 cabs for us 6 people, because taking the bus would be more expensive since not everyone has a subscription with translink.
Cave Hill
Today we visited Cave Hill. We ordered a cab because they are cheaper than a bus ticket. The cabs took us to Belfast Castle. First we walked around the castle and the beautiful park that was next to it.
Quiz Night
Today the agency organized a quiz night for all their interns in Belfast. For this we met at „The points“, a whiskey bar in the middle of the city. We could reach the bar in 20 minutes on foot. It was just like you imagined an Irish bar. Dark wooden furniture and violin music. it was really cool. Additionally there was a free drink for everyone. We were split in groups of 5 people and were given a sheet with the questions on it. The quiz was about questions about Belfast, Ireland and the EU. As a free drink I decided for a guinness because my colleagues had already recommended me to try it and it was really delicious.
Precept-IT
Some good Irish hospitality
Today was a special day at Precept-IT. Kevin and I were invited to join and eat some tasty Irish beef burgers with the rest of the team.
We were lucky to have such good weather today. Perfect for grilling some beef, talking and having a good time.
I’m curious what the evening brings with it. Looking forward to the quiz-night with Intern-Europe and the long bank-holiday this weekend.
Start of the first week
Belfast – Meeting with Intern Europe
Today we were invited to a meeting with Intern Europe at their office. Purpose of this meeting was to fill out some missing information on some documents, and to give us some information on the first day at our companies.
Furthermore an employee walked us to the city centre and helped us getting our tickets for the bus. I also were able to pick up some souvenirs there.
From this point on we discovered the city centre a bit more and we did some grocery shopping for the evening.
First glimpse of Belfast
At 7am I stood up and made my way to the Airport Schönefeld in Berlin. From there, our Plane flew straight to Belfast International Airport. Althrough I already flew once, it was still exiting. The flight took around 2 hours and went without any trouble. „First glimpse of Belfast“ weiterlesen
