Yesterday we all met at Max’s and Dominik’s house and cooked noodles with tomato sauce. It was a relaxed evening and very nice to be with almost all members of the group and talking about the experience of our work. Today on saturday 13th we all met and walked to the Saint George’s market. There you can buy clothes, food, music, pictures and more. After we walked a round over the market we split up and I took my own way to play Ingress. For those who don’t know what Ingress is: Ingress is an augmented reality game where two groups are fighting against each other worldwide. One team is green (the illuminated) and the other team is blue (the resistance). The aim is that each factions are trying to conquer as much terretory as possible under so-called control fields, which are built between portals. Portals can be found at real existing attractions, statues, buildings and cultural places and must be found with help of gps coordinates and the scanner app of the player. So I started my tour through Belfast to capture some unique ones. On my way I walked along the River Lagan, over the Victoria Square, the city centre and so on. Particularly the side streets are very interesting because of the many graffitis. In my opinion the city acts more happy and seems more atractive because of them. Sometime I was really exhausted and sleepy so I headed back to my house and realised that I walked about seven hours and 24km.
Yesterday we had our first working day in the IT department of the „ulster folk and transport museum“ in Belfast. Easily exited we were received from Robin Finlay the head of IT. He showed us directly the building and led us around. Furthermore he introduced us employees from the museum, showed us the datacenter and told us some interesting informations about the network. After that we met our colleagues. They both are very nice and hearty which I personally like. In the course of the previous day and today we had a few tasks done. For example installing a computer or adjust some codes of the website. So everything is totally relaxed like our work colleagues. On another day in the evening one of our colleagues was so nice to bring us to a shop for vaprorizer and after that he invited us to his home. Despite easy understanding problems (because of the dialect) we had good talks and could laugh a lot. At the end we all drove through the streets in the direction to our house. During the ride he told us many things we should absolutely do. Therefore I am very sure we will have interesting times the next few days respectively on the weekends.
Today the Afib 2017 starts to their intership in Belfast – Ireland. Our flight took 2 hours from Schönefeld to Belfast Airport and from there we traveled about 40 minutes to the city. In the city a woman from intern europe was waiting for us. She organized Taxis wich brought us to our houses, for the next two months I live toghter with Konrad in an apartment. After a short brake we met the others and went to Tesco to buy something to eat, drink our other stuff.
And so Konrad an I are eating and after that the we will see what comes next ?
