My weekend so far was quite chilled. I played basketball with a couple of friends, grab lunch and enjoyed the nice weather. I also watched a movie called „Meg“ and looked a few things up about the „Meg“.
So as I said, I watched a movie called „Meg“, but what happened in this movie?
Well, the plot is about a funded underwater research facility called „Mana One“, which is on a mission to explore the deepest section of the Mariana Trech. At first the mission seems to be quite successful, but then they get attacked by a big strange creature. After the instruction of some other characters and their relationship the main plot is to defeat the Meg.
But what exactly is the ‚Meg‘?
Meg is the shortcut for Megalodon. Megalodon is an extinct species of shark. The Megalodon is considered one or even the biggest underwater predator we found so far. Megalodon means ‚big tooth‘. He is closely related to the great white shark. Scientists aren’t too sure about the maximum size of a Megalodon. Because the skeleton of a shark decay very fast and mostly only that remains, it is quite hard to tell the size of such a beast. The assumptions for the maximum length of a Megalodon goes from 18 meters to 25 meters. The name ‚Big tooth‘ is very understandable, by a tooth height of 18 centimetres and a bite force of up to 110,000 to 180,000 newtons. That would be equivalent to holding 18.000 kg 1 meter above the earth. A great white shark only has a bite force of 4450 newtons.
That is just a few of the massive characteristics or abilities about the beast Megalodon. He is a quite terrifying and astonishing predator I read about.
