„There are many things we only see clearly in retrospect.“

10th of June in 2018:

Hello everybody.
This is my last blog entry, which will also end this blog about my work experience in Belfast. It has been ten days since I arrived back in Berlin. Before concluding this journey by writing this article, I went to school and went back to my usual life habits. Now I want to share some last experiences and words. „„There are many things we only see clearly in retrospect.““ weiterlesen

„Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.“

(quote from Seneca)

31st of May in 2018:

All of us stayed in the living room because the rooms were muggy of the heat and no wind can’t cross. I slept only 2 hours and 45 minutes on the ground, which was comfortable. I used to sleep on the mattress consists of bamboo in Vietnam. What a great start to the last day of our work experience. Yes, this is the last day and also our departure from Belfast/Northern Ireland. I can’t believe how fast those eight weeks passed. „„Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.““ weiterlesen

“Nothing lasts forever. Forever is a lie. All we have is what’s in between hello and goodbye.”

29th of May in 2018:

This day was the last but one working day of my work experience in Belfast. I finished all my task, which were unfinished. Today flew by that fast.
In the evening we went for an Irish dinner at ‚Morning Star‘, a recommendation of Tim :D. The atmosphere for our last evening together in Belfast was great. Unfortunately, the paying process was problematic. At first, they told us to separate the receipt by ourselves and go and pay separately. Then at the cashier, they said us it isn’t possible to settle up one by one. In the end, we had to borrow money from Tim, who paid by card. When Tim was settling up, another staff told him that we could pay individually. It was such a mess! „“Nothing lasts forever. Forever is a lie. All we have is what’s in between hello and goodbye.”“ weiterlesen

„Frog.“

Bel(quote from Tim R.)

27th of May in 2018:

The day started quite relaxing. I finished to pack my luggage and enjoyed that Sunday.
Of course, we had to go to the Belfast Spring Continental Market. Now I have time and place in my blog entry to talk about this beautiful and impressive food market. The food market had a lot of booths from different nations as Italian, Greek, French with freshly made savoury pastries, Spain with paella, Netherlands, with Dutch pancakes, Germany, with currywurst and bratwurst sausages or ostrich or venison burger from the exotic meats of the World Traders. Besides they also offer handcrafted and bespoke local products. „„Frog.““ weiterlesen

„Remember: Enjoy your life today, because yesterday has gone and tomorrow may never come.“

(quote from Alan Coren)

25th of May in 2018:

Work was relaxed today because a colleague allowed me to leave earlier from work because there was just one colleague left in the office. I informed my supervisor by writing an email and left at 1 p.m. At home, I tried it one more time at the post office nearby our accommodation. I was lucky things didn’t turn out worse. I missed the collector for the parcels, but the staff gave me a discount of 10% for my 7 kg large package. That’s why my box will be sent on next Tuesday because Monday is a Bank holiday. „„Remember: Enjoy your life today, because yesterday has gone and tomorrow may never come.““ weiterlesen

„Sports do not build character. They reveal it.“

22nd of May in 2018:

At work, I continued the task, which needs to be finished. In the afternoon Jenny and I tried to send our parcels to Germany. First we decided to use Hermes, but unfortunately, we didn’t have a label from Hermes because we thought it is a Hermes shop, where the labels will be printed out. However, the shop owner apologised, and we had to left the shop. My parcel was quite heavy however we had to walk home again. „„Sports do not build character. They reveal it.““ weiterlesen

„Your computer can’t connect to the remote computer because the Remote Desktop Gateway server is temporarily unavailable.“

(quote from Windows)

21st of May in 2018:

The last week of my foreign work experience has started today. I can’t imagine that those eight weeks passed by that fast. I am looking forward to coming home, but I also miss the time with the others here. „„Your computer can’t connect to the remote computer because the Remote Desktop Gateway server is temporarily unavailable.““ weiterlesen

„Winter is coming.“

(quote from Game of Thrones)

20th of May in 2018:

Our awaited ‚Game of Thrones‘ (GoT) tour took place today. This Sunday started early, but fortune wasn’t with us. First of all, I was exhausted. Second Son and I left the house quite early, but Google Maps or the GPS from my phone had some errors. My ’smartphone‘, which was stupid this time, navigated us to the wrong location. We had to run to the bus, which was exhausting. By the way, Son doesn’t have mobile data so he couldn’t help. Ten mins too late, we arrived the bus. Robert also joined this tour, cause he is such a huge fan of this series. „„Winter is coming.““ weiterlesen

„Dancing is like dreaming with your feet!“

(quote from Constanze Mozart )

17th of May in 2018:

The handover of the document was today. My supervisor was satisfied with it. *Yes :D* My task continued by testing with colleagues, explaining everything about the new server farm. It is fantastic and makes fun to talk in English. To communicate with others with only one language is lovely. I enjoy it a lot. „„Dancing is like dreaming with your feet!““ weiterlesen

„Have fun because that’s what life is about.“

(quote from Ryan Lochte)

14th of May in 2018:

The last but one week started today. My supervisor was absent until tomorrow. I still got my current task, to set up the users at Outlook of Microsoft Office 365.
At home, a funny situation happened. Son often arrived home late, that’s why he can’t make dinner for us. Therefore he used to help sometimes, i.e. taking the trash out or cutting vegetables. Today Son learned that our accommodation has a second rubbish bin. It doesn’t sound funny but let me reconstruct the conversation, which has occurred today: „„Have fun because that’s what life is about.““ weiterlesen
