Only 3 more Boardgaming events

Today i realised that we are in the last 2 weeks, this also means that there will be only 3 more boardgaming and geeking meetings with the wonderfull group of people i found. Even then we played games as usual and talked about everything that is coming to your mind. At this meetings you will never feel like an outsider. You will even see that some of the people you played more often with are remembering your name. I also learned about a lot of new and funny games to play for different sizes of a group from like 3 players going up to 8 players. One of the most funniest games i played today is King of Tokyo, which is throwing you and the other players into the shoes of being monsters like a kraken or godzilla but also some more hillarious ones like a really huge panda or a bunny in a bunny cyber mech suite and winning the figt over all of tokyo.

It’s getting harder to focus

As I arrived at work today I continued with my tasks, still the same task like 2 weeks before. I am still working on a big project that is very hard. My biggest challenge was that students from all over the world have difficult names and some include umlauts or special characters. I tried a lot to convert every string to a UTF-8 one. I already had tried this last week, but the only thing I got was errors or weird outputs. Today I found another solution online and luckily it worked and now my program is working perfectly.

Another Visit to Camden Market

Sunday was my uncles last full day here in London, so we decided we would spend the day at the infamous Camden Market, where I had been a couple of times already. Arriving there, we checked out the shops and attractions.

a planning day and a cozy evening at the fireplace

Yesterday was a calm day. After we all had a good night’s sleep, we played some viedo games after breakfast and then talked a little bit about the hardware course we have to hold after our stay abroad and the time when we are back in germany. Then everyone made their own while i was on the phone with my girlfriend. in the evening we sat down in front of the fireplace (like real computer scientists) and had a beer in a cozy atmosphere.

Review of the sixth week

Just two more weeks! I can‘t wait to be back in Germany. At this point the Internship has become pretty boring and it’s hard to motivate myself. Freetime is still fun but work is just so unchallanging. I love travelling but I never want to be away for such a long time from my family and especially my girlfriend. „Review of the sixth week“ weiterlesen

Weekend and the Spring Bank Holiday

This Monday was Spring Bank Holiday which meant that I didn’t have to go to work. In the morning after I woke up I went to the kitchen and made myself an omelette which came out pretty well and tasted really good even though the cheese was frozen.

Let’s explore a huge toy store

Today I went out early and took as a bus to the center. Directly at the London Eye I changed the bus to go to the Oxford Street, at least as Google said.

After some minutes of driving with the second bus, it changed the next stop info just to a “*”. As I know already from London buses this means the bus is on diversion, which means the bus is taking another route.

For this reason, I left the bus a bit earlier and walked the remaining part.

As I arrived at the Oxford Street I went to a huge toy store. You have many floors there and in every floor are at least 2 persons, which are playing with the kids (of course with the latest toys). I just looked around there and saw so many happy children.

Last Bankholiday

This weekend was a bank holiday again, which means we got a day off work today. If I’m honest… I didn’t really do much besides letting the weekend be weekend, playing video games with the others, recover from the exhausting tour on Saturday and preparing our hardware course, which we will hold after the internship.

Other than that, not much has happened. The Austrians left the accommodation on Saturday morning and 4 Italians took their place instead. It has gotten a lot more quite over the last days.

On the one hand I’m enjoying the much more quite atmosphere, but on the other hand it can be a little bit boring from time to time.
