Normally the work here at Precept-IT is pretty straight forward, but today we got something different to do.
After we had synchronized the backup sheet of all the client systems with the actual database and marked all warnings and errors, our next task was to fix all failed backups. Since all the errors were quite different from each other it took some time. For some of them we even needed the permission of the clients to dial in on their PCs. For servers it’s easier than for laptop- or desktop-PCs, because most of the time nobody is working on them and you can do the backups after working time. Some of the users didn’t even respond until now, so there is some more work to do for tomorrow.
After a whole week of just processing datasets it feels like a fresh breeze to get a task like this.
